A Voice For Island Connections
Our Vision
We believe in a transportation system that treats island access as a fundamental right. Whether it is ensuring a patient can reach a life-critical medical appointment or advocating for the infrastructure needed for the next generation of electric vehicles, our work is grounded in the long-term health of our island ecosystem.
What We Do
- Advocacy: We represent Gabriola’s interests at the highest levels of provincial and regional government.
- Infrastructure: We identify gaps in road safety, like the Ferry Hill pedestrian route, and fight for the funding to fix them.
- Sustainability: We lead local initiatives, such as the Sustainable Transportation Fair, to celebrate and promote low-carbon travel options.
- Equity: Through programs like “Drivers to Doctors,” we work to ensure that no resident is left behind due to ferry schedules or financial barriers.
For over 30 years, GTS has been the quiet force advocating for the roads we walk on and the ferries we rely on. But advocacy requires more than just good ideas, it requires a community of people who care about the details of island life.
Whether you have technical expertise in sustainable transit, a passion for local road safety, or simply believe that “Drivers to Doctors” is a vital service for our seniors, there is a place for you here.
